STATEMENT OF FAITH

Statement of Faith.

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the “Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention on June 14, 2000.  We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind.

We individually, and as a body, adhere to the Covenant of Membership listed below:

  • Realizing our guilt and lost condition before God, we have repented of our sins and received the Lord Jesus Christ, who bore our sins on the Cross, as our personal Savior (Romans 3:19, 23, 5:8, 10:9-10 and John 1:12).

  • We acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord over all our life, and seek to confess Him as such before others by testimony, both of life and lip (Romans 10:9, II Cor. 5:14-15, Matt. 10:32-33).

  • We trust in the power of the Holy Spirit, who lives in our hearts, to keep us, guide us, and lead us in the way of purity and holiness (John 14:26, 16:13, Romans 8:2-4, Gal. 5:22-25, Titus 2:11-14).

  • We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God, and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice (II Tim. 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20).

  • We recognize our responsibility to pray regularly for the work of this church, her pastor, staff members, officers, and members, that the witness of all concerned may be to the glory of God and to the salvation of souls (Eph. 6:18, II Thess. 5:17, 25).

  • We recognize our responsibility to be regular in our attendance at the services of the church and to partake of the Lord’s Supper in obedience to His command (Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:25, I Cor. 11:26).

  • We recognize our responsibility to study the Bible, the Word of God, and to support the Bible School which meets regularly (I Peter 2:2, II Tim. 2:15).

  • We recognize our responsibility to give our tithes and offerings regularly through our church to extend the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ, both at home and abroad (Mal. 3:8-10, I Cor. 16:2, II Cor. 9:7).

  • We understand that there is no saving power in baptism, but we will be baptized (or have been) by immersion, in obedience to our Lord’s command, thus signifying our union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Matt. 28: 19-20,  Romans 6:4).

  • We each promise that we shall never, by word or deed, divide or disturb the fellowship of this church. Before we would do so, we would willingly remove ourselves in the fear of the Lord (I Cor. 3:16, Psalm 133:1, Romans 16:17).
