Associate Pastor/Children/Youth -- Dexter Taylor
Pastor Dexter has served as Associate Pastor of First Baptist Remlap since March, 2009. Dexter was born on December 18, 1970 in Birmingham, AL. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1989 at the age of eighteen and accepted the call to ministry in January of 1990. He was subsequently ordained later in his ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Business from Faulkner University in Birmingham, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity Degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Dexter has previously served as student minister, associate pastor, and senior pastor in various churches in Alabama.
Dexter and his wife Jennifer were married on June 11, 1994. They have two older children, Madelyn and Corbin. In his spare time, Dexter finds that some of his greatest joys in life is spending time with his family, and enjoying the great outdoors. He strongly supports strengthening and promoting the Christian family model in our country through his ministry. Dexter seeks to create a comprehensive program for children and students, that when they are grown, they will maintain their personal relationship with the Lord, becoming strong leaders of their families, making a positive contribution to society. Dexter’s number one goal in ministry is to glorify the Lord, and teach others to do the same.
